Room to Read’s mission is to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Since 2000, Room to Read has improved the lives of almost nine million children in 10 countries in Asia and Africa.
The Room to Read chapter network includes about 57 chapters and over 11,000 volunteers around the world who network and raise awareness and funds for Room to Read.
Since 2000, more than 8.7 million children in 10 countries have benefitted from Room to Read schools, libraries, bursaries and a local language publishing program.
Room to Read’s transparency and accountability have earned it eight consecutive 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator. Less than 1% of rated charities can make that claim.
Our commitment to delivering top-quality programs and maintaining the utmost fiscal efficiency has earned widespread recognition across the non-profit and corporate sectors and the media.
The Room to Read Montreal Chapter is a registered charity in Canada and Quebec. The Chapter is led by a group of exceptional board members and a dedicated team of talented volunteers.
